Shortening Tray

Gday fellow bashers.. May sound like a dumb question but i wanna shorten my tray on the lux and know that you cut the end off, but where do you take most of the meat from to shorten b4 you re weld it? Thanks

more info is it steel or alloy tray is it single or dule cab

id say chopping the end off then cut it back and reweld the rear end plate bit back on. and i spose you would have to to shorten the chassis if you shorten the tray to much

Judging by the avatar...an educated guess would indicate that it is a steel tray on a single cab.

cut ya chassis bak to the hangers and finish the try there simple or make a new tray

Its a single cab and its a steel tray. I wos thinking along the lines of what has been said, maybe not go so far as hooking into the chassis but yeh cut the end off then take bout 300ish mm off the end then re welding it..
