Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I aim looking at buying a 2000 big butt Kia sportage and have got a question or two.

One thing that is currently causing me a problem is finding wheels for one. This is what I have found.
Standard offset = 45mm
Standard Rim size = 15x6
Hub = 108mm
Studs = 5 by 5.5
You can fit 15x7 and 15x8 (bronco, cj jeep, Suzuki) wheels and these wheels have 0 offset
You can put 30x9.5 with 2inch lift no problem
You can fit 31x10.5 with triming

Now I have Questions. I enqiured about some wheels (white steel 8 spoke) and was told no can do. I then asked for Bronco 15x7 and was told that the offset change would effect the scrub radius in a major way and make it uncontrolable if i look a wheel up in the wet. Is this the case?

I thought that the increase in track would be a good thing. I have also think by looking at diagrams about scrub radius that if you change the offset in the way above it may be corrected by increasing the rolling diameter. Is this the case?

A lot of people appear to run 15x7, 15x8 and 30 or 31, do you have any problems or changes?

Finally can you run 16x7 and 255/70r16? It this a good option?

Any larger than 235/70x15 and you need to mod the gaurds. Plus it starts to make a big differance to the gearing.
Try a 2" lift with 235's this will make a big differance. and fit manual front hubs.
As for the offset. I think an inch wider to the out side would be ok. 15x7.

got 31 10.5r15 mud tyres on mine on bronco offset 15 x7 alloys mate..........drives great......no probs with wheel align...and you can run 30x9.5 with no lift on your orginal rims to.....cheers....

30x9.5 is pretty close to 235/75. I agree they will fit on stock rims under the guards, but I prefer the extra clearance of a lift when off road and flexing.

So if 30's on stock rims will fit with no lift will 3'1x10.5's still fitt on stock rims with a simple 2" lift (I hope so) or would a little bigger offset be needed or are the guards that tight?

And yes i am referring to the fatter arsed ones, missus needs the boot space.

You will need some small mods to fit 30.9.50 tyres. Standard you will get scrubbing on your front bumper.

Rims are only 15 x 6 wide so you should not fit 31.10.5 on these. go aftermarket and you will need lift.

G'day all, new to this site. I have a 97 sporty with a 2.5 inch king springs lift and slightly larger rubber 215/75/15. I tried 225/70/15's but Icouldnt stop it and I thought it mucked the gearing around a bit too much. How are you guys going with the larger rubber.
