GU 3 litre intercooled turbo engine, into a GQ would it work

appreciate some advise here from experts, I have a 92 GQ s/w with a stuffed petrol motor, was going to pick up a wreck 4.2 diesel and install then got to thinking about the 3 litre turbo. appreciate any help

stick with the 4.2 diesel idea much better engine and easier conversion no electronics to worry about and probably cheaper

With the reputation of the 3L, plus the extra hassle to convert, IMHO it wouldnt be worth it.

been thinking about that beretta, want to through some ball park figures at me. its 1990, red, s/w, b/bar, tow bar, 7 seater, 16"rims including stuffed tyres, carpets a very tidy jigger. just thought the GU intercooled turbo in 3 or 2.8 might have been a good idea, obviously it was'nt. thanks for the input though fellas

turbo IC TD42 would be.
as for yours, probably worth $2-4k? maybe bit more.

a GQ wagon with a fawked motor 1990 vintage would prolly be worth like with a zillion kms on it ...
im thinkin more $1500-$2000
