ok i have a GQ patrol and i know that coil overs ofer alot more options as in ride height etc but im looking to do comps such as tuff truck and the like slower crawling events so i was just wondering is it worth it to spend the money on coil overs or just get the air shocks

i would like peoples for and against please

Dont know for tuff truck  , but you cant beat Airshocks for crawling.
I would say there is just as much or more adjustability with airshocks, you can change ride hight by adding or subtracting nitrogen on the spot and change the rate and dampning by changing the ratio of oil and nitrogen.

should be fine for tuff truck, just dont jump it

Mock :D

so are you saying coilovers just because of weight factor?

yer, you could get away with 2.5 airshox but they dont like highspeed and they fade really quickly.

Coil overs for your rig for sure bartso. Air shocks are for only slow rock crawling.

If your driving on road with load or even on a rough road the nitrogen mixs with the oil and can cause probs ,if DEFINATLY useing it for slow offroad ONLY work then go for air shocks

Bartso. What have you built this rig for? Because from looking at your build up it realy looks like your building a Winch Challenge/Tough Tracks style rig.

Im not trying to put you down or anyone that enters a similare rig but its not going to do great in Rock Crawling events. Or Tuff Truck. So do you want a rig that can only be used in these two styles of events or something a little more versitile. If your absolutly set on limmiting your options to Slow events then go Air Shox because they are cheaper. If you want to be able to enter almost any events go Coilovers. But then again there realy is nothing wrong with a well set up rig on Coils and Shocks in any of these events.
