Is there any problem with connecting up a 73Ah battery in parrallel with a 130Ah battery. I have the 130Ah batt in the back as the dual batt and have a spare 73Ah batt that I want to connect in parralel with it effectively giving me 203Ah off my dual battery. Will this work or will the current rush from one to the other. I have the electrical aptitude of a hot mars bar and do not to burn my ute to tne ground. Any help would be good. Thanks

Hi sambo, as Scott posted, there should be no problem.

One suggestion, if you can, when you connect them for the first time, try to organise it to be done when you are going to be doing a drive somewhere and start the vehicle first before connecting them together.

The idea is that should the two batteries be at vastly different SoC, even though there is no great problem with connecting them while in this state, by connecting them while the motor is running, the alternator voltage is going to be much higher ( at least a Volt higher ) than either battery so there will be no transfer of current between the batteries.

The drive will also get both batteries to a similar charge level, for the same reason as above.
