Has anyone heard of or done it before?
I'm looking at it for a bit of extra power and it will cost about $3800 for the whole set up to a 22R 2.4L hilux.
any help or opinions would be appreciated, thanks.

If its straight gas u should be able to do it a lot cheaper as u dont have to worry about an ecu, fuel pumps, regs and so on.
But if u are including getting lpg installed then its ok

Never seen in done on a lux but heaps of other cars runs straight gas with a turbo. Remember to get better performance out of gas you will need to raise your compression ratio and get the timing curve sorted out. Straight gas is brilliant, dual fuel is a compromise with timing and compression ratio.

If he is running a turbo he wont need to raise compression.

got a straight gas turbo in my mq. should be running in a week or 2.
gas loves the extra compression the turbo gives, cause of the higher octane bigger bang more power.
try and use gas research as it handles the boost better!.
thats at least what i have done.

d-lux I am not too sure whether rasing the compression is a wise move. Sure gas loves more comp but when you turbo a petrol engine you need to lower the comp... might be best to look into it further... the last thing you would want is a leg out the side...
