'97 Sierra dashboard mount failure

Hi,

I've got a '97 Sierra and it seems that the top dashboard mounts have broken off and need to be welded back on.

I'm trying to get the dash off so that it's easier to access, but I can't work out where I'm going wrong. I've got all the visible screws, the ones under the glove box and the ones on each end. What next?

Is there an online workshop manual that would show me how to take it all apart?

Is this a common problem with Sierras?

I did a search but didn't come up with anything relevant to the newer type dashboards in the coily Sierras.

Ta!

Not sure if coily dashs are the same as WT ones.

Aah thanks! I didn't think to check in the vents.

Wow, there's a goldmine of info there. I'll check it out. Thanks.

Not sure if coily dash is the same as NT dash, but there is one behind the ashtray.
Also, have you freed the wiring harness?

I had a bit of a poke around on the weekend. I thought there were only two mounts, left and right, but I found there is a centre mount as well that has worked its way off the body. They seem pretty fragile!

I was wondering why the whole dash looked like it had dropped 1/2 an inch!

I've ziptied it all up until I have access to a welder. Ta for the help.

Same thing happened to mine, it looked like the mounts were soldered on :? Haven't fixed it yet, looks like a bit of work.
