Seriously considering buying a RR.

G'day all,

I am looking at selling my Subaru L wagon and buying a RR as my daily driver. it wouldn't be too crazy (2" spring and maybe a 2" body lift running 33's) but something I can drive to work everyday and tow my project around with and go 4wding and camping in. I would run it on LPG.

I would like to know if you think it would be stupid as having it as my daily driver?

Also can people post pic's of their rangies :)

To answer your question, YES!!!!

buy a rangie.. they're awesome on and off the road..

when my rangie was stock it was a treat to drive on the road.. it felt better than any other old stock 4b I'd driven anyway..
even with a few mods now, it's not too bad on the road..

for the price you get power steering, air con, 4wheel discs etc.. things that a lot of other old 4b's don't have.

but as you can or can't tell, I might be a bit bias, I bloody LOVE THEM!!

G'day all,

I've been offered a 4door RR 1984, with LT77, with LPG and rego till march, $2500 off a good friend...only seen highway and gravel road.

I want a RR as a daily driver and towing vehicle with some off roading, won't be used for rock hopping.

I know the LT77 isn't strong, but would it be fine for what I want to use it for? Also do I have to do a body lift to fit 33" tyres on a 4 door?

Thanks heaps

Buy it, get an lt230/lt95 box and transfer case to replace the lt77. You can easily pick this up for around $300 - $500 and fit it, but drive the old one till it breaks

for 33's you'd want a body lift and maybe a bit of guard / inner guard cutting to avoid scrubbing.
