Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Quick one guys, just got a set of 33's and have some 15x8 with -5 off set and want to fit them under the 2 door which only has a 2" body lift and I know i need to cut guards but i need to know how and then what sort of flares you are running and how did you attach them to the body work pictures tell a 1000 words an any advice is really appreciated

tried to search just don't know shit from clay.

There is really only one type of flares and they are the LRA ones, once you cut the guards they are held on with self tappers. Have a look in the post up your rovers section, all the square flares are the LRA ones.

If you want it pretty, go with LRA flares, dear as poison, the problem with them is they're tugher than the cut gaurd, and when you bash the flare you wreck your gaurd, trust me i've wrecked a few

Or go to clarke rubber and get some flare rubber and of to bunnings for a box of tech screws, cost $100

But the LRA flares look heaps betterer

This is what I did, much cheaper and it cost about $100. If you rip one off in the bush they're cheaply and easily replaced.

I do like the LRA flares and would fit them to a more expensive Disco or Rangie, but my Rangies a dunga anyway ($2K Rangie with $10K worth of gear ).

I went for an even cheaper option, used the old plastic garden edging from bunnings $10 for 20 meters. You can make 4 out of about 5 meters and so you got heaps of left overs. So when you rip them off you can make more. I use the good old tec screws to fit them sweet as.

You don't bend an edge of the guard to attach lra flares.

At the front of the rear arch of 4 door rangies/discos, the arch, which the door closes on to, is trimmed back to leave about 10mm lip. The lip is the cut radially with snips, to make a series of tabs about 12mm wide. Then the tabs are bent in against the inner side of the arch. This procedure is to maximise tyre clearance and is nothing to do with attaching the flares.
