01/02 - 2.7 efi Hilux...

Sometimes runs brilliant then other times will feel like has no power, does not accelerate smoothly...

Sometimes there is no accelleration until I get to like 4000rpm.. then all of sudden.. it starts pulling real quick..

Swapped all the usual suspects.. new plugs & leads, new air & fuel filter....

Had valve clearances checked - all good...

Still the same...

Any ideas :bad-words: :bad-words:

fuel pump.....to check, pull return hose off fuel rail and put in a bucket.....rev it up and watch flow, should piss out all the time, if it is only just dribbling or stops when you rev, change pump....obviously if the filter is blocked, that could have a bearing on the situation....

get your O2 sensors checked, if they are playing up your computer will make your engine run at a safe rich mixture, this drops power and temp

vacuum pressure dampner (common fault) easy to check, just fold over the fuel return line and put a zip tie on to hold it allowing only for a small amount of fuel to return to tank, and give it a run!
