Does anyone know how to enable the open scan 2 function on a tx4400? The book says that it can replace the group scan function, but that it had to go back to a dealer to be done. Is this true, or is there a simple trick to it?

Can't exactly remember the 4400 off the top of my head but there should be a button with OS/GS on it somewhere, which should enable open scan.
Or you should just be able to add all the channels in group scan...

I know how to flip between OS and GS. But according to the book there is an option to have 2 different open scan sets of channels. The OS 2 replaces the GS altogether. Thats what I'm after. What I want is Chanel 1-40 in the the first open scan and then all the 'Copper' channels in the second open scan. And I don't want to use Group Scan as I hate it flipping back to the priority channel all the time.

But the book says it has to go back to dealer to enable this function. I want to know if this is true, or is there a simple trick to do it myself?

Sounds like it would be something that has to be dealer programed

i know that if i turn my 4400 off and then push the volume button down, give it a twist with it depressed then let go and turn it on, It comes up with the 60 channels

As for programing go to a radio repairer and they should help with extra channels to program but they are only listening channels and as far as i know you can only program from 465 - 485 mhz

don't knoow if this helps but hey it worth a try

WIHC...When you go on the extra 20 hold down the channel button and u can tune them if you hold it again u can set it to whatever channel u have it on 41-60 it will stay locked onto that channel.

And as for the scan thing not sure if i am on the same subject lol but the m at the top corner changes the scan one of the buttons takes it away or puts it back....
