diff swap?

hello fellow jeepers
just wondering if you can swap an xj diff with a tj or something to go from 30 to 35 but still keep leafs

You can swap the diffs - but youre getting the models confused.
The Dana30 is a front diff & the D35 is (crappy) rear diff.
Bpthe the Xk & TJ have Dan30 front. The Xj has a dana35 rear whereas the TJ has a Dana44 rear.
If you can get a TJ Dana44 rear diff, cut the brackets off and weld on a set of sping perches it would be a good modification and yes it has been done.

is it the same track width or would you need spacers ??
i am looking into the explorer rear end swap to get a ford 8.8 diff

8.8s are a bit limited in available ratios, aren't they?

but i do know they have a 3.75 ratio already
