Steering wheel not straight

since my susp lift (2in) and putting on the ext shackles my steering wheel isnt straight anymore and it sh!ts me. i looked at teh fsm and it says to use teh special tool for the job..
can i get away with just general tools, eg. sockets and ring spanners? whats the best way to go about it?

further on this i am going to replace the steering biscuit with a new poly one. i was thinking maybe turn the wheel (upper steering arm) a tad whilst the biscuit is out and get it close to centre again...?
no replies.. i am off to try it then

Remove your steering wheel nut so you can take wheel off. Find straight section of road and drive in a straight line. Pull wheel off and put it back on so it is straight. Fixed.

haha thanks mate
thought it was going to be harder... the wheel didnt want to come off so i gave the column thread a tap with the socket over the nut half done up. whilst pull up with my knees
makes sense...:S
