since my susp lift (2in) and putting on the ext shackles my steering wheel isnt straight anymore and it sh!ts me. i looked at teh fsm and it says to use teh special tool for the job..
can i get away with just general tools, eg. sockets and ring spanners? whats the best way to go about it?

cheers

further on this i am going to replace the steering biscuit with a new poly one. i was thinking maybe turn the wheel (upper steering arm) a tad whilst the biscuit is out and get it close to centre again...?

no replies.. i am off to try it then :P ill see how i go.

Remove your steering wheel nut so you can take wheel off. Find straight section of road and drive in a straight line. Pull wheel off and put it back on so it is straight. Fixed.

thought it was going to be harder... the wheel didnt want to come off so i gave the column thread a tap with the socket over the nut half done up. whilst pull up with my knees :P makes sense...:S
