Outer Limits 4x4 Board

stupid question, does anyone know if you really need to have this clips on? or will having them off stuff the cv joints. put some warn hubs on a while back and the stub axel does not protrude enough the chuck the clips back on

Ive had mine out for 2+ years... But I do have spidertrax birfield rings so my axle does have very little in-out movement because of the larger bell.
