The tacho on a 1HZ picks up from the injector pump. Dont know where the chev one gets its signal from

The 6.5's Chevs had a reluctor ring behind the front crank balancer that sent 4 pulses/rev and was used for the EFI system on the 6.5. Im sure the 6.2 has none of this so a tacho might be more difficult.

read this before you buy off Marks,

I have a base model 80 and my tacho (after market) runs off the alternator.
I bought my adaptor from a local suppler in Brisbane, (I can't rememerb the name but I'll look for the reciept if you need it), I have never had a problem with it. Was a fair bit cheaper than what Marks wanted as well.

Did you use a diesel or petrol version tacho?

I diesel 80. Standard it didn't have a tacho so I had to fity a complete setup from guage to sender.
