Can a jeep wrangler owner tell me how noisy an 06 model soft top is with a try fold roof my wife is supposed to pick it up tomorrow and im trying to talk her out of it,she has never driven one because they didnt have an auto in the yard so are they super noisy or are they ok,also how many kilometers to a tank around town.I was told the flapping down the freeway will drive you insane.thanks

factory top....when up is quite maybe a slight flapping but nothing to drive you mad.

when down its quiet......but the wind noise isn't. obviously anything not tied down will flap about.

K / tank is not the greatest as the motor is set up for torque. you can still get over 400km a tank if in stock form and if you don't drive with a lead foot.

To give you some indication of what it's like to drive:

With top up and aircon on it's quieter than a 3 cylinder charade at 100klm/hr, i should know as i own 3 of them for my business. It only really 'flaps' during strong crosswinds. I have found that with the fan on setting 1 or 2 it puffs out the windows a little bit making the top a little more taught reducing flapping.

With top down, it's noisy as all hell, you can't hear the radio, the fuel consumption goes up, you get sunburnt but it's waaaaay fun.
