Hey All,
The oil pressure guage of my '97 NK GLS TD Paj is not working?
I havent had a chance to check it out properly yet, but are there any hints why it may not be working?
Is it something as simple as a blown fuse?
Going from a basic Suzuki, i know f***all about all these electronic gizmo's
Cheers,
Jayden

Hey Jayden
Its probably completly different to my patrol but my oil pressure gauge stops working sometimes, its normally just one of the wires falling of the sensor, maybe have a look for that, the sensor on the patrol is a round silver thing that is screwed into the side of the engine with two wires coming out of it, would probably be similar in you paj.
I don't think it would be a fuse becuase if it was a fuse then all your gauges would go off, but it wouldn't hurt to check them anyway.
Cheers
Simon

the sender could be leaking around the terminal and the wire is covered in oil and not connecting.or try earthing out the wire going to the sender and the gauge should read maximum pressure when u turn in the ignition.if the gauge moves then it will be the sender.

I have a similar problem with the oil pressure switch/guage not working.
I am 100% certain that I have good pressure and nothing is internally wrong as the motor is still fresh after being rebuilt.
When starting the car the oil pressure guage in the dash comes to about half way then after a couple of seconds it fades back to zero and does not move. I have earthed the pressure switch at the oil filter and the guage goes straight to max. I have bought and returned two replacement switches from RIPCO but both have the same problem.
What are my options - go genuine ?? (not likely)
any ideas??

yeh the only way to go about it is replace the sender unit - and it is likely that it could fail too.
I think I read (could be bs though) that the problem is that the sender unit used in the diesel is identical to that designed for the V6. The problem being that the diesel is alot more rough than the V6 and the sender for some reason or another doesn't like that.
You get used to looking at a blank gauge

I suspect your sender is dying. Try to take it out, clean it thoroughly before putting it back on again to try. Remember to check connecting terminal as well.

I run Motul Oils to the book specs - not cheap.
As for the sender dying - it's brand new.... and the one before that was brand new aswell.
It just anoys me that it registers a pressure then dies off.
