hey i was just wondering does a vitara auto have lower gearing than a manual or even does a carbie vitara have lower gearing than a fuel injected? i just want to know this becuase suzuki parts are so cheap over here (people wrecking them for parts) and if i could put lets say auto diff heads in (if they even fit  ) and get lower gearing i have just saved myself like $1800 on a calmini gearset. cheers

No. The 3 speed auto has 4.625 and all the other 1.6's have 5.125. You'll be able to save your money anyway as Calmini haven't had a rear 5.83 available for over a year and there seems to be no plans to offer them again at this stage. Boondox Motorsports have been trying to get a group buy together of some rear 5.83's but it is on hold till the new year sometime.

The efi 4 speed auto and carby manual have the same ratios as your efi manual so no change. The carby 3 speed auto has the 4.625 so if you swap them in you will struggle even more, kinda like the effect of putting the 30" tyres on a stock rig but with 30" tyres on there already it will make it even worse. Calmini still have the front 5.83 R&P for sale but they no longer have rear 5.83 R&P so unless they either get another production run going or Boondox organise their group buy you are stuck with your 5.125's. Actually that is not entirely correct. You could always try to source a rear 5.83 direct from 4xfourart in Turkey or some second hand 5.38 or 5.62 R&P's from the U.S.A. but they are rare.
