Finally got around to putting in my new front shocks today after breaking one at cruiser park in July. I rnded up going with the big bore tuff dog adjustable, 720 long pin to pin. The are for an 80 with 5" lift.
All I can say is wow, these are great, much better than the Billy's I had before. Had to drill out the bottom holes in the spring purches to get them to fit but other than that, all went well.
Will get some pics soon.

From memory, 720 pin to pin is about 120 longer than stock. (edit just checked, it is about 170 longer)
Surely you would need to lift/extend the top mount so they don't bottom out on full wheel stuff! If not, I want to know more about those shocks.

john as you would know,
depends on what coil he is running and how much up travel is allowed by packing bumpstops

Amd remember I am running 80s diffs so the coil mounts are at a different height.
I haven't crossed it up yet to check but the shock is more compressed at idle than the billys.

Will be interesting to see how these shocks go on a lighter vechile....
A lot of my mates bought them when they first become well known for the wank factor and they all leaked within a few months...These were on heavier trucks 80series and GQ's
