i have a 99 2.8td GU and i cant get a brake pedal, ive replaced the master cylinder and bleed out all the brakes, with the car off the pedal feels good and doesnt sink or anything but once the car is started the pedal goes almost to the floor and sinks if you leave your foot on it. it seemed to me to be the master as it was sinking but got a brand newy and it still happens
any ideas

yes i bench blead the master and there are no leaks in the system
i have gq brakes on the gu will this cause any dramas, from what i can see it shouldnt but there may be some differences to why its not working

why do you have GQ brakes on the GU?
What model brakes are they off, and what model is it going on? There are different calipers, thickness discs, diameter discs, etc.
Bleed each section of hose/line 1 at a time...

the person i bough it off swapped the diffs with his gq comp truck
i have blead each line seperately, staring from lhr then rhr then lhf the rhf and no air is coming out only fluid thats why i cant work it out everything seems normal

is the system losing any brake fluid out of the rear of the master cylinder maybe ? also gu patrols have twin spot front calipers so you may have to adjust the brake proportioning when you get it going .

Are the front wheel bearings tight?

by its aford not a nissan
is the master cylinder for the gu or gq as there "might" be a dfference in the amount of fluid going through it
on my gq my brakes were spongey only when running and hard when off put new pads in and took out the metal shims between pads and the pistons and now they are nice and firm
just a thought

the car is all gu except the diffs and calipers/rotors on the diffs
no fluid leaks at all
