Leaky Snorkel - Suggestions?

Hi

I recently posted about this but now I have some pics to better describe whats going on.

Had an ARB snorkel fitted to my hilux (98 3.0LD) and when I went to check the seal on it I noticed that there was a small leak in the couple between the air filter box and the original pipe coming from the guard.

The couple has some movement in it with the engine on start up and revving and when I had a look in the air filter box there was some black silicone that was an attempt to seal it.

The guys who fitted the snokel reakon it wasnt thier job to seal the original toyota parts and that it shouldn't let any water in. The leak is only small but its enough to keep the engine running when the snorkel is almost completely blocked.

Any suggestions on how to seal it completely?

Clamp a piece of rubber hose over the connection with vaso in the joints.

Measure the OD of the joint `Than go to the plumbing store and get a rubber joiner {as said above] with a ID close to your OD of the air box

The rubber joiner will come with 2 hose clamps to seal the joint` But also check the inside of the gaurd where it meets the snorkal as it will be crap as well.

Bling it up a bit with some of that blue silicon hose from autobarn  both the others are good ideas. to test if it still leaks block the snorkel not totaly as it will create a leak and just use a fine squirt like a little pump bottle from hairdressersand you will hear it seal then open up if there's no change in sound then it's A OK use that heaps for finding vacuum leaks.
