GU TB45 starter motor died Commutator. Are TB42 the same.

My starter motor died today after fitting new brushes about 6 months ago.
The commutator is rooted as one of the brass contactors got ripped off and this then seriously broke/wore the remaining brushes with the space missing.

I want to know whether the GQ's are the same with TB42 engines and any suggestions for a replacement in melbourne, as i am going away on the 28th. Maybe a few places will open on Wednesday the 27th.

Thanks
Grant.

edited*** Yep the TB42's and TB45's are the same****

Been on holidays's for a while, so i thought i would post what happened after my starter died.
I ended up getting a new starter motor from cool drive in Box Hill Melbourne for $285.00. (I didn't realize till later but there latest brochure had a list price of $195.00, so maybe a price rise occurred recently.)

They recently bought out a previous auto electrical supplier called OZ starter drive in Tullamarine, and moved to box hill.
They sell heaps of aftermarket starter motors alternators and air conditioning equipment etc for both the petrol and diesel patrols.
Yep, cheap starters and alternators for the TD42's for you diesel lovers.

The website is http://www.cooldrive.com.au/

and I suggest people look at there latest brochure (mainly pages 5 and 6 of)

** edited again, I also could have saved some money and repaired my starter with a new armature and brushes that they stock but didn't find this out till later.**
