cam choice?

need more power for my 22r have just polished out my combustion chambers and thought a cam would help with better range for the power. this is a 2wd motor set up for utes? it now pulls a heavier 85 luxy and response doesnt work the best have to rev her too much .would a stage 2 cam do it or what. need more range /'powerin lower revs.
