Yes it has been done before, btw the motor is 4 litre. Go to www.lextreme.com there is a guy on that forum that has a 1UZ Lux.

Talk to Bullet Engineering at Yatala, they have a gold 2wd Hilux with a Lexus motor in it, and I am looking at putting one in mine. Not so keen on having a holden engine in my Toyota anyway.

Check on the sump as the crown, soarer, something else all have different sumps, one has front sump, one has mid sump and the other has rear sump, I think its the rear one that you want. I`ve read that much on all of this over the last few days that I`m getting all confussed which has what. I`m getting a 94 crown 4lt and it is going into my lux with a T700 auto within the next couple of months.

This thread will help you lots if you spend the time reading stuff in the links in it.

Thought it was mid sump.
I`m not that worried about the sump as that is easy to change if it don`t work in the lux.

There's one in the ACT 4wd club recently completed. Fitted to an IFS 2 door 4runner. He had some minor engineering hassles, but apart from that apparently straight forward. I'll see if I can get some info at the meeting on Tuesday
