Have a Powershot kit on my modified GQ, I`m happy with it, bought it from the US 3 yrs ago, paid US$650 with freight incl.

I heard somewhere its better as you use propane in a BBQ bottle instead of regular LPG which isnt as good

LPG is about 90% propane anyway, in many cases closer to 100%.

Yup, easy to install and did it all by myself. Gas flow controller comes pre-set from the factory.

The whole kit is reliable and simple, nothing fancy electronics to go wrong.

I have a 9kg BBQ bottle.

I don't think so. It would be nice if it were, but it has a large proportion of Butane in it, which costs the fuel companies even less than Propane!

I know from when trying to tune performance cars on LPG, it is very difficult, as there are lots of different blends at different servo's. It is very difficult to find straight propane in a LPG pump, but when you find one, remember it!!

I have done so much more to my truck than the powershot kit, but with gas on it feels more responsive to trottle input, makes it more livelier, and less spool-up time. Have not dynoed it, but maybe 15-20% more power/torque. It was an article in 4wd monthly a while back were they installed an LPG kit on a turboed 1HZ, and it was around those figures mentioned above.

Just had a bit of a read on the site.
Do these kits stop feeding gas at idle like the oz fitted kits do?
Do these kits need to have a turbo to run properly? The Oz installed kits give the same gains etc on a non turbo 4by I dont have a turbo yet, but I intend to down the track.

Just did some research and it can be anywhere up to 70% butane if they have a huige surplus of butane around.

The east coast it is generally a higher ratio of propane as the propane is imported (cheaper than getting it shipped from WA) and thus they just buy propane rather than propane and butane (has to be shipped seperately and mixed locally).

Outback towns will usually be running 100% propane as the tanker delivers the domestic and automotive use in one load rather than 2 loads (straight propane for domestic, and propane/butane mix for automotive).

It was a gas installer that told me that LPG is closer to 90% propane. Perhaps he was talking about QLD specific where a major amount of LPG is imported and the rest is from refineries and very little to none is brought over from WA and SA.

Unless it is turboed LPG fumigation is not that great.
