rear factory diff lock
rear factory diff lock
havin problem with my rear diff , got a 89 mave with a factory locker but when i turn the switch on the dash it dosent ingage but under laod is will sometimes ( can tell by light turning on and off and both wheels spining ) ive been told that these are a fantastice locker but want to know should the light always stay on and is their anything wrong with it , should it always be on ingaged when the switch is on and light is on and can i fix it
yeh the light wont necessarilly be on if yur locker is in, i have the same problem all the time, the vacuum solenoids get stuck therefore stopping vacuum to your shift fork normally u can pull the assembly apart, an easier option to try is to tap the solenoid with small hammer or spanner works pretty good or a blow out with compressed air and some light oil (fishing reel oil) down the solenoid, can also be a blockage in your vacuum lines running down ur car. If u pull the two lines off ur solenoids and flick ur switch u should feel vaccum comin out of them both
