Have just started to put the snorkel on my suzi, but when i started it with just the pod filter in the new fillter box it idles at 3 grand. Any ideas why this would jump up like this.
Cheers

yeah if the out the old air box on its all good. with no filter it sits at round 2,500 rpm when the pods on it is around 2,900-3,000. the idle conrtol is wound fully out as well so i dont know (to much air maybe)

Filter wiont make any diff to idle speed if clean, open or not. Must be a linkage stuck or an air thru broken vac hose etc.

Check the vacum hoses and one way valve that go to the temp sensor for the hot air intake on the top of the air box (thats if it has it). These may have been dislodged or changed when you fitted the snorkel and pod.
Layto....

the vacume hoses have been plumbed into tho air intake but the one way valve sensor thing is going nowere, as i could not figure out a place to but it. do i need it or can i just leave the the it swinging (is it nessesary).

If it's injected i'd say that 'one way valve sensor' is your airflow meter. fairly important...

its not injected just a standard 1.6 carbie vit engine. the only hose that i have not connected to any were is a small vacume type hose that was to control the valve that let hot air off the manifod into the engine when warming up, but as i am in qld my engine warms up quick enough as it is so didnt think i would need it.
