What brand is best?
Are slotted or drilled ones wearth it?
How much should you pay for standard ones
How much for slotted and or drilled ones?
Have been quoted from $67 each up to $110 each for just standard ones. Haven`t priced slotted or drilled ones yet.

Go DBA slotted, stay away from drilled as they crack around the holes

Standard ones don't collect mud as bad as slotted and or drilled. We all know you love digging in the mud Guts

I`m certain if you were in ear shot of me while going threw that hole you`d be saying different. Or did you hear me yelling "fuck I hate mud"
But its for my 80 not the lux. The lux is in the bad books atm and is still just sitting in the back yard as it has been for about a month now

its even go long grass under it where I have just mowed around it

I just got 4 new rotors (stock) for the 60 series diffs @ like 30 ea ....Hypo just got some for his 80 aswell paid a little more from memory ,
But I would prob go for the stock rotors , atleast then the slots or cross drilled holes wont fill up with muck ...its bad enough with the vents filling up
unless your racing the 80 on the tar or towing a 3t load I wouldnt bother even then has any1 tested the benifits on a 4wd with slotted or cross drilled rotors ( And I dont mean rexxys or EVO's or the like)

Guts..
The only bloke to include 25 swear words in a 30 word sentence and make sence while fitting a front drive shaft.

The DBA slotted clean pretty quickly after a bog hole and don't fade as quickly if you are doing lots of hill work
Oh and they work well on the Audi too

I was just looking up the same, theres a company edr or sumthin alike, they have a new slotted and DIMPLED rotor, ive had quotes for around the $300 the pair.
DBA slotted and x drilled around the 198 each.
Thats to suit the patrol thow, ive always liked x drilled but dba said the same, possible cracking due to hot cold all the time.
edit - RDA is them not edr haha

slotted are good, help minimize fade, cross drilled allow crap to get in like small rocks that will score the pad and stuff up the cooling causing warping and cracking

I would have thought that any mud in the slots would just dry and fall out, I can`t see it being a problem when I really think about it.

For normal day to day driving the slotted and drilled rotors aren't worth the extra money. If you're a hard driver or you're wanting a little more form your standard brakes then definitely go the slotted and drilled rotors. Off road they are great. RDA or DBA are the go. Be ware the cheaper brands are cheaper for a reason. I've fitted many a rotors to all types of vehicles and can tell you that the cheaper they are the more trouble i've had with them.
Cheers, dan

Go slotted only. A workmate fitted slotted rotors to the front of his GQ coil cab and they made a huge difference with the 33 MTRs he is running. Only problem is the wheels are very quickly covered in brake dust.

Had DBA slotted on the front of the 60 for bout 5 years now, they're bloody great. Dont fade as bad in the stop/start city traffic or towing heavy loads. The slots (mil and a half deep?) dont stay clogged with mud, and definitely havnt had any gravel stuck in them.
Jus need to improve the rear drums to match.....

after having the front callipers sieze up about a year agoin my 80s i had it at the brake shop and mentioned that i was keen to improve the overall braking from standard. willing to spend a bit of money to achieve the result the bloke stood firm saying for all the extra expense of slotted and or drilled rotors it wasnt worth it and in off roading situations the standard disks were best.
ended up putting 100s bendix 4wd pads in (they go in with no shims and a disk machine ). went to stop at the first set of lights and nearly put my head through the windscreen.
short of spending thousands of dollars on custom 4spot callipers and bigger disks the difference is amazing - well worth it and cost is same as standard pads.
cheers.

DBA or RDA slotted.
I noticed a big difference from the standard rotors to the DBA slotted after bogholes. Dry out and work much quicker.
Didn't notice any real difference on road though.
Paid something like $85 Ea.
