a very reputable 4wd shop (who gets tons of mentions on this site) recommended 33's and 2inch body lift in qld.

He said it was the max i could go with my existing 2' lift.

i know the onus is on me to do the research, which is why i thought that what he is saying is illegal in qld.

your thoughts?

im pretty sure it is 1/3 bump stop etc.

BUt the company in mind(who are very well respected qld wide) definately said 2 and 2 and 33's are fine. i know at the end of the day its my decision, but i pay for insurance, and i sure want it to stand if in an accident.

Bump stops are fitted to the chassis so 1/3 bumpstop is suspension only. I'm pretty sure 2" is OK but has to be approved by QLD Transport, special form and inspection.

2inch body lift is the max you can go in QLD regardless of what suspension lift you have. If you have 10" suspension lift (that complies, which it wouldnt) you can still have a 2" body lift.

2inch, and it must be approved by QLD transport prior to installation (obtained by submitting a written application to QLD transport), and inspected by a QLD transport officer at a QLD transport inspection station after installation, where they will look at the whole vehicle.

your tyres can only be 15mm larger in diamater than what the standard tyre is stamped on the compliance plate so tyre size is dependandt on vehicle. What vehicle are we talking about??
