I would read this study before wasting your cash on "blue" head lights:

that story is dead right, but dont get me wrong, i use autotecnica silver max 100/90w if you want to get rid of that crapy yellow light these a perfect, but there not much better than a normal 100/90w. a mate of mine has 7 inch round cristal head lights with the same globes and they turn out the same colour as his blue lense narva spotties.
imo there great. street signs, road markings and anything painted in reflective paint shows up really good much better than normal globes.
you should be able to get cristal head lights from autobarn.

do those crystal headlamps make any difference compared to a standard semi sealed lamp? I was under the assumption that the bulb was what made the difference?

If you want the best lights possible in a GQ. Get IPF 170/100w bulbs and a heavy duty wiring kit and it will blow you away. You can also put in IPF lens and reflectors or i think Narva and Maybe Hella do it to. They aren't exactly blue or white, they are still a yellow light but they about as good as it gets. I have no need for spot lights with these head lights fitted.
Blue lights and HID Lights dont cast shadows like yellow lights do either. For example on the beach wash outs aren't as visible. Although they're bright and look good not always practical.
Hope this helps...

A good/better/new reflector will do wonders for a light...
