I've got both the Gregorys Manauls for GQ AND GU, they do a good job of explaining most things including the swivel hub assembly.

Could try there..

Yep just give me a ring. I just did mine before I went to Barmera.
A kind bloke on 4wd Monthly forum posted up copies from a Nissan Manual of what I needed to know.
Cheers

I can't remember who makes the manual, but you can get them for under $50 at REPCO...

If you need any advice/help just PM me.

I did mine last week so its still fresh in my mind.

The hardest parts:

-Ripping out the axle seal (Eventually hacked the old one with a chisel, broke it in 1/2 then ripped it out)

-Removing the old kingpin bearings (Angle grinder!!)

-Getting the amount of shims just right on the kingpins.

-Getting everything back in order, (Take note of the oreintation of thrust washers etc!)

Good luck with it!

Here is a pic of the kingpin bearings, don't be afraid to use a little force on these stubborn bastards. Try breaking the bearing case off completely, cutting the rubber seal off then hitting the bearing with a rift or chisel. If all else fails, ANGLE GRINDER.

With the shims, if you are replacing these bearings, they will be tighter than the old bearings. Try at least one shim top and bottom, you should be able to swivel the knuckle on the steering joint with no more than 2.5kg of force once you have the kingpin bearings tightened down (on top and bottom of the knuckle). Anymore and you could risk cracking the bearing when under extreme conditions.

(How do I upload photos directly to the forum??? pm! pls.)
