hi guys
I brought some Speco gauges for my car and woundering the best place to tap into for water and oil ...
I was thinking of buying a new thermstat housing alloy one then getting then to drill and tig weld a fitting into the side of it ..
Is there any other spots that are better to tap into becuase the probe is kinda big...
With oil pressure i really have no idea i was thinking takin the old sensor out and put the new one in there but then i have a dead one in my cluster..
Gauges are mechnical as well..
Cheers
Guys..

learn to live with the dead one in your clust, she aint too accurate anyway
you can buy a sleeve that you cut into your upper radiator hose, might be cheaper than paying for something to be welded, still undecided if this is the best spot though

I put my dash sender in the top rad hose as its only a guestimate guage anyway. The sender for the accurate mech guage went in where the dash one came out of

You should be able to buy a brass t piece fitting to screw into the original oil pressure sender units thread, then you can run both gauges off the one tap in the block. If space permits, put the current water temp sender in a sleeve in the radiator top house and the new sender where it came from as previously posted. This was the setup I used.

Don't know about oil guage but temp guage has a gas in the line from the sender to the guage so while it is possible to f#$k the guage by bending the capilary line too many times during installation, you won't get 100deg water spewing into ur face if something goes wrong

with the commo ecotec V6 in the Hummer replica I stuck in a tee piece for the oil sender, then got a machinist to make a spacer for the thermostat housing, they machined a recess for the thermostat and drilled and tapped for the nissan temp sender and for the thermo fan switch into it, so at least the the Holden temp sender and the new senders are all before the thermostat, so they are all getting the same reading, if you want a pic ill get one and post it up.
