Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Well just topped the hub up with oil stuff. and went to put the new fan on but its different.
So I phoned Nissan and they want $235 or $310. As there was a change in 10/91.
So looking at my SWB its 9/91, so am guessing the new fan is after that and to suit the EFI. Bugger, was under the impresstion they where the same. Oh well.
So does anyone know of an aftermarket fan to suit a TB42S as an aftermarket item?
As I need it going and cant afford $310 for the early model fan.
So I now have a brand new late model fan.

Did some ringing around in Bendigo,
Harrisons 4wd Center can get them in for $85. So ordered one will be here tomorrow.
And its local so thats good. Only a 10min drive.

Just drill 2 holes in the solid cylinder looking parts near the center of the hub and fill it with silicon oil that cost $10 from Toyota. Then use two screws to seal it up!!!

I did it and it works!

I have a clutch and fan of each of the two sizes. One has a stuffed fan, the other has a stuffed clutch. So I might be able to help you.

I had 1 hole drilled in the outer area of the hub. Looks like a casting spot. Nice and flat and 5-8mm across. Had a hole drilled and tapped then put a screw in it.
Brought silicon oil from Toyota (they do approx 5-8 fans a week) for $12. Didnt even need to tell him or get him to look for the part number.
Was advised to heat oil up in cup of hot water (dont think it made any difference). Then cut top off tube. Pushed it against hole I had drilled and forced the stuff in.
Dab of gasket goo on the screw/bolt and put it in.

Problem was I brought a 10/91 fan for a 9/91 engine. So the fan I have should fit any TB42s or TB42E made after 10/91 till 97.
Thread had nothing to do about oilling the hub. Well dont think it did.
