I mean, clutch or gear box.....

Crazy noises coming from below, and no drive...in the zook :roll: .....pull out gearbox, and out falls two peices of clutch (plate?)!!!
Not good!!!
Had another box still attached to different engine, so pulled it apart to loot the clutch, fitted it..no noise....but still no drive! WTF!!
It is entirely possible that the clutch used was different, but it fit!
The donar was a 1.3 and 5speed combo from a coily, the existing was attached to 1.6 when bought, so i dont really know what size/sort etc etc this settup involves.
Is the replacement clutch (a) fitted incorrectly, (b) the wrong one..or is my box f%*(ed as well as the clutch?
Forgive my ignorance, Manuals are new to me!!!!

Cheers :cool:

Yup, used the old pressure plate!
Could be it!!!
Out it comes!!

Mud;
Splines look the same, and accepted the different plates, maybe diff length or something? Both are 20 tooth splines...may have come out a n NT too........NFI

Will probably replace the lot with a heavy duty job, was just trying to be back on the road to get to work!!!! Nice idea!!!

Thanks chaps

Pressure plate is probably stuffed, losing its clamping force. Did you put the friction plate in the right way, some plates can be put in back to front and not properly engage the flywheel.

Layto....
