Anyone have any experiences/recommendations for places to fix roof/gutter rust? My 60 has some poking out from under paintwork near gutter. Thought it was a bird do do & poked my finger through the roof when i went to scratch it off. :-(
Didnt press very hard either.
Would prefer west'ish if possible.
Thanks.

60s are one of the worst 4wds for rust in the roof. Do yourself a favour if your going to get it patched properly. Remove the hood lining. I have seen heaps of these burnt out because some thought they would get away with welding a patch in while the hood liner was still in.

G'day as ruff said remove the hood lining is a must and you'll probably find more rust ive done a compleet turet on a mk wagon and wen the old turet came off i found the roof support rails had rusted front to back both sides wich made the job alot more time consuming than xpected so dont be suprised when you find that theres more rust than metal wen the grinder starts happy chasing
cheers

Thanks guys. Is it a difficult thing to do for a learn as you go type person like myself (have swapped gearbox & bodies on other 4x4 & made my own rear bar for this one), or is it mainly just time consuming.
