I have a pair of diffs from a 2002 F250, Dana 60 disc front and 70 drum rear, which i am considering selling. They came from a fire damaged car (6 cyl diesel) the front one survived without loosing any paint but the rear could do with new seals as some of the paint burnt off. How much do i ask? is 3k too much?

Is it a D60 or D50??? D50 being a D60 center with D44 axles.

D70 wouldnt be worth much to anyone on here i wouldnt think, D70 is a huge diff.

Its a dana 60. some had a 50, and some had a 60. This ones a 60. I am told the dana 70 is the same size as a H260 Nissan diff (the big one) so its not too big to be handy.

What ratios are they are?
Do they have factory lockers at all?
Do you know the Wheel mount surface to wheel mount surface measurements?
Are they 6 or 8 lug?

Do you have the BOM numbers off them both?

These are all the questions a buyer will most likely ask :)

Not trying to be a smart ass but they are worth what someone will pay for them.
Not exactly a lot of people rushing out and buying these diffs but when they do it is usually a comp rig and they are either done on the cheap or no expense is spared.
Just need to be lucky and find the right buyer I guess.

cheers

They should be metric 8 stud. Meaning that Hummer beadlocks would not bolt up.

I'd also check the D50 to D60 question. I would have thought the D60 would have been in the 7.2ltr and the D50 in the 6 cyl?

The number stamped on the front of the housing is 248, which is the metric measurement of the diameter of a dana 60 crownwheel. The dana 50s have a smaller crownwheel and are stamped 225. This info can be found on pirate on their dana 60 FAQs. I did a bt of searching before i bought these....

All 2002 f250s are 8 lug and have the same track (very wide) as far as i can tell they dont have electric lockers.

Prolly a 60. I think most 2002 was 60s. Not sure about over there but in the US thats the case. A set here in the US goes for $1500--2000. Not that it matters over where your at. Just a heads up.

You prob dont want to hear it either Guts.

Front would be worth $3,500 and rear $2,000. You damage one beyond repair in an F truck and try and buy one cheaper. Yes they can and have been found cheaper but those prices are on the cheap side of the going rate for these axles.

Those prices are DEFINITELY at the cheap end of what they could cost.

theyre laying there and doing nothing. i may as well give them to someone who will use them, as i wont in the next 6 months. i'll find some more when the time comes, I know where there are atleast 2 more D60 steers.

I would just stash them (unless u need the $$) in the shed till u want to use them, its not like there going to go off, or drop in value, I have a really good set of mogs just waiting for me in the corner.

Who doesn't have a set of mogs stashed away ;)

As for these diffs - I agree with Ruff on the front price, but the rear I think is worth less (not worthless).
Firstly they do still need to be cleaned up, for many they'd probably need regearing or at least lockers added....it starts adding up ontop of the inital asking.....

Also for the rear anyone considering it would have to consider a 14B, which can be purchased much cheaper....

Just my 2¢.

Send a PM to rockcrawler31.

He bought them for $2000 and told me he'd take $1500 for them. Just a tip, though, if you want them at a bargain price, haggle like a massage lady in a Thai brothel and don't be afraid to swear...I mean HEAPS.

You could try these diffs. I think someone might get a pretty good deal from this. I wonder who it is??
