You're probably still running sealed beams. You can buy a conversion kit from Repco that will allow you to use H4 bulbs in the wattage you desire with the view to upgrade to HID if you want to go that far. kit I bought comes with everything you need. Housings, Lenses, Wiring, Bulbs, Etc. Pretty sure it was a Narva brand.

Pirhana products also do a headlight wiring loom. Includes relays for both hi & low beams with H/D wiring back to the battery. Combine this with the H4 conversion kit & 90/130w globes, then at night-time pesky critters become crispy critters.

I use narva inserts (have used hella in the past - cracked when splashed with water), an ARB loom and IPF fatboy H4's (think they were eq. to 150/120?).

I would stick with the std halogen bulbs in a higher wattage. i used 90/110 (IIRC) in the hella inserts and they were better and far cheaper than the fatboy's in the narva inserts (apart from getting so hot they cracked :S )

Sounds the go..... I already have a nice set of spotties so seeing isnt a prob out in the bush, but on low beem on the street i may as well not have any headlights on at all! so whats the best wattage then? I dont want to go that high its gonna crack lenses

Just some quality 50/60W H3's with good wiring will shit all over the sealed beams.
