80 to 100 rear axle stud mod

Going to replace my 80 series rear axle studs to 100 series
jobbies. I will be doing the mod myself.

I have two options with the collets:

1. Use the original collets and drill them out to 10mm therefore
the tapers in the axle flange need not be machined to suit the bigger
hunjy collets.

2. Use the hunjy collets which means I'll have to machine the axle flange
tapers

What is the preferred option (ie strongest) as i have seen both used
successfully.

Cheers

if you have access to a lathe, drill the tapered part of the holes in the axle and make some bushes to suit the new hole and bolt size. no tapered collets anymore. Also we use allen bolts instead of studs for easy axle removal. i've had no problems at all (used to snap axle studs almost every time we went out).
