Well my rancho's have finally given up on me, so its now time to drop the truck to a 2" lift.
Any idea on what the extended and compressed length I will need?
My current springs have a spacer (2") at the top so I am hoping that if I take this out I will not have to replace the springs as well.
While I'm here, I bought a set of 5 ROH steel rims yeterday, which I was told were right for the truck (15x8 Hilux/Cruiser off set) but the guys at the tyre shop said they couldnt get them on.Any ideas?
Blew my second hand lsd as well (teach me for being cheap, thought a front lokka was too much hassle) so now looking for a new one, or what do you think of a lokka in the back?
Hit a few problems in the last week or 2 so just about traded her a a GQ Patrol......hopefully I can get it sorted before my temper gets the best of me.

Thanks,Dave

Hey Dave,

Damn you've had some bad luck! :bad-words:

The model number of the Ranchos that went into my already 2" lift is RAN 9180 TS so if you were looking for a replacement that would be it. I dont know the extended/compressed figures on these but will try to find out. I think you're right about the coil spacers, should be back to 2" lift (ofcourse as long it was actually 4" of lift to begin with ;) )

I'm a bit surprised about the ROH steelies as mine fit just fine. Mine sit out a lot further than the stockies and there is no problem with clearing brake or steering components. Maybe those are a different offset?
Mine are ROH Trak marked with 8JJx15 and also with I117 marked either side of the valve. Lets face it, our vehicles should be pretty identical apart from the engine so should also fit yours...

I would never put a Lokka in the rear. ARB air locker is fine but the life of a rear mounted Lokka is bound to be dramatically shorter than if in the front due to it permanently engaging/disengaging. Save up for an ARB or go Lokka front with LSD or open rear. What are the $$$ for a new LSD compared to ARB?

Give the beast some time. I'm sure if you tone back the suspension a little things will get better...
