6:1 not low enough? Try 8:1

Also a thread on it over at Pirate....apparently they have adjusted the 6:1 so that no grinding is needed and the 8:1 will require the same grinding the 6:1 needed.....geez they are getting low!

I guess all these super low gearing options are going to make the "low down torque" arguement null and void - pretty soon you'll all want engines with a high rev range instead
Bring on the F6A - redlines at 8,500rpms, maxes out at 11,000

To be honest I think it is a misprint cause if you read the specs they are the same as the 6.1 gears.Rocky road has them as listed as the 6.1.

What about a T-case doubler Sam? That would be far more useful - as it's possible gains are far greater than just increasing the gearing in the x-fer case...

But I think price will be the main issue.

Agreed, but being able to multiply everything behind it by 1.8 would have to be some sort of incentive

As far as revvers go, has any one considered a Motorcycle engine? Say a GSX 1300 or sim.? They're as big as 1800's too.
Short chain drive to a long shaft direct to the T case or sim?
Power to weight ratios would be impressive.
Rev till you cringe and shift like a Kart racer (On the steering wheel or column)

Same size as the F6A but it's an alloy block and has some other goodies too.

i dont think it is a misprint they have listed 8.1 twise
an they say it is the lowest gear set on the planet
when there is a 6.5 gear set out from calmini

Why would it not have a warranty?
I would expect that it would, but maybe it would have to be installed by a qualified person (as per Rockhopper warranty).

im looking at buying series threes and i want warranty so if they are going to warrant these ones i might as well wait and get them if price is ok.

I looked on RRO sight and could only find the 6.1's listed.
Price wise we won't know until they are made . athe more we can get made obviously the cheaper they will be. And yes they will have warranty.

There is a thread on Pirate about the 8:1 gears. Apparently they are real, but Glenn has been away at SEMMA etc and hasn't updated the site..supposedly out in December but no confirmation on that has been given....
Now to beat someone up and get them to make gears for the Feroza
