i was down the south coast of nsw the other week and i saw a very nice lifted L300 which got me thinking it's a bit top heavy but if you cut most of that top off then you have a go most places (i can't say anyware of this forum) truck with a huge bed.
now the plot thickens there is a guy selling 2 L300s near me for $2000 one is running the other not so. my question is how mutch do you think it is to have the thing cut down? i know a tray will be $2000 ish and if the cut and shut costs $2000 ish then i'll have a very cool and uneque 4x4 truck for $6000
what do you think?

I think it's an excellent idea - I recommend you add fuel injection to the motor, because I don't believe a serious offroad 4wd should have a carburettor. Other than that, I think it has great potential.

looks like i was way out with the conversion cost! it's more like $9000+
i'm sure it could be done cheaper if i did a bit of work my self like most of the chop and just left the pro's to do the cleaning up and welding?
any one had experiance with body mods?

The cab-forward driving position in the L300 will create a MUCH bigger tray.

A 4wd drive Kombi!! Thats what the l300 ute will look like.
If you get the diesel motors then it will be the injected motor already.
