Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Some Patrol from this side of world. This is just a weekend play around on some dunes about 15 minutes from the city (mind you this happens every weekend summer and winter...) There are soooo many pics that I can't really post all of em so just have a look at some of them...
Most of them use the LS1 engines for playing around dunes. When they prep the cars for the higll challenges or races they use the Patrol 4800 engines with turbos and nos ... thats about 1100 hp to the wheels ... yea talk about insane !!! Enjoy.

could you tell me why none of these seem to run bonnets?

surely its not for the aircleaner to hang out is there overheating issues?

Im interested on what seems to be GU tail lights in the GQ's

they look the goods. id love to fit them to mine if its not to hard anyone have any info on the coversion

Methinks it may be, for a big motor will generate a lot of heat at full noise for so long up hills like that. Add in an intercooler blocking your radiator an an 1100hp motor, and you will need all the help you can get.

Man, there must be SO MUCH money floating around over there ...

1100hp at the wheels is some serious hp, obvioulsy using an ATLAS tc.
assuming 30% driveline loss those 4.8's are making 1450hp. WOW!!!
They must cost ZILLIONS, cus they would need billet chromo crank, alloy rods, bottom end girdles (the std bottom ends arent good enough for over 600hp) . . . . . . .
Do you know who built these engines??? they sound awesome!!!

the chop looks horn, although roof looks fucked.. Havent seen many chops over years that dont look sweet.

Some of those Big block V8's are old US Prostock drag car engines, 1500hp N/A would be a snack on a detuned motor.

those guys are mad, lota dollars spent there. But one question, why would u put a TRD(toyota racing development) stickers on a Patrol

could have a toyota nascar motor in it, around 5.5 or 5.9l i think.

most of them run the 4800 vtc from the patrol with turbos, they push about 1400 - 1500 hp ... pretty powerfull the rest use the ls engines v8. in the 6 cylinder engines the 4800 has been undefeated.

Pretty serious looking gear,love the patrol doing the wheel stand

Sometimes you see a different car like a wrangler or a cherokee or something but thats once in a blue moon ... why - because they suck !

Rumour was Trent Leens shorty a couple of years back did 15sec which isnt bad for a clapped out old nissan. Since then its been rebuilt and some more stuff done (all rumour and storys there may be no fact in that). And Birdy did 13.5sec on 35's. Also Sandy won some of there burnout comps in a LWB 3lt GQ.
So if there the numbers they where doing then. The turbo petrols and Supercharged gen3 should be good for something in the 12secs and the disels should be able to get into the 14sec pass group.

Birdy ran the old truck, unsure of times though.. sure someone on here will know.
