the reason i ask is the local constabulary deem it neseccary to give me a yellow rather than chasin criminals, so i would rather sell it in a state where it can be regoed with out any problems unlike here in the west, or my other option is to part it out to make way for my new project. for those of u who dont no what i got, its a 87 lwb factory hard top, with a 1.6 mpfi, 33 jt2s on offset rims, ( the front 2 with second airs), airlockers, upgraded axles in zook diffs, overkill coil conversion and the list goes on, so what do ya reckon? if ya want any more info pm me.

so, apart from the tires, what is illegal in WA on it? Wouldnt the coil over be a fairly simple pass?

do you have any relatives that live in another state? If you do, get it engineered and registered and engineered there then bring it home.

if i part it out the whole lot is goin except for the winch, i really dont want to spend another couple of grand to engineer it and do a lanchange test because at the moment i havent got the time and its goin to eat into the buggy funds which i dont want happenin, the inspection centres arent stupid over here and i can guarantee they will tell me to remove the complete sus setup and drop it back to normal which i dont wanna do either.

no you wouldn't have to get it rechecked, as you would keep it rego'ed in the other state.

AFAIK, NSW & Tas have the friendliest rego laws...

OK, they let some pretty wild streeters through then, maybe they don't like 4x4's...

And NSW let anything through.

Well like anything it helps if you know people.

My mate's dad's mate is is somehow connected to the pits, don't think he actually works their but same department or something. Anyway their old Cortina which was honesly barely roadworthy had got yellow stickered. "I'll take this one", passed no hassles...
