It is not the lift you have to worry about but the clearance in the guards.

I know my 35s will just start touching the rear guards at full compression of the rear springs. Front is fine and I run a 6inch spring lift with no body lift.

Anything over 35s I would guess would need one of three things:
1. Lower rear bump stops so tyres do not come as far up into the guards
2. Body lift
3. Pull out the angle grinder and start cutting :)

Cheers

REAR TYRE WILL ALWAYS RUB ON THE INSIDE OF THE ARCHES ON FULL FLEX EVEN WITH 3" LIFT & 33s

Not having tried this I would guess lift the body 25mm (1 inch) and that should give you the clearance, but 50mm may give you a little more room.

How high you lift you springs is then just a personal choice.

I used to have an OME 2 inch spring lift with 1 inch spacers and 35 inch Pedes. Used to rub on full compression but not anything that would damage it. Had that set up for 2 years.
Now with a 5 inch lift, 35's are no where near rubbin.
Guess every cruiser is slightly different.

With 35's on 15x10 wheels and a 4inch spring lift the tyres would rub the rear. I then put on a 2inch body lift, total of 6inches and have not had a problem. Probably could run 37's now, but that would be the most without even more lift.

I am running 40's on my 80 with a 4in lift. It does touch the inner guard, but nothing to worry you. I have also bumpstopped it and trimmed a bit of the wheel arch away, but they do fit.

Now were talking....its all in the rims cobber, std gxl are 0 offse,. a set of roh sunnies is 27p or an inch further out...makes a great difference with the rubbing up back. Id go the 3-4 inch no more and 2 inch body, put 40mm packing under bumpstops down the back, and pin eye adapter up top of gq aftermarket rear shocks (eye/ete) or similar, and you have more articulation aswell as no rubbing. The front tyres will rip the mudflap off if you leave em there aswell....but only in the bush :)

Yes, i think its all about the body lift. Iv managed to get my 33's to just scrub in the rear with a 4" suspension lift on my 80series... mind you i don't have any sway bars attached :D Now that iv got new 4.56 diff ratio's, i will be purchasing 35 or 36" peeds. Ill see how i go but money says ill be getting a 2" body lift very soon after!

2" body and 3" coils - I ran 37's with minimal scrubbing!
Running 35 pede's now and no issues!

I think if you do spring lift only, you'll get some rubbing but if you do spring lift and body lift, it'll be fine.
