box trailer suspension

Hey Everyone

Was given a box trailer off a family friend and have decided to fix it up. Got it registered today and I am putting in a new floor as well as new lights. My question is: It is just stock suspension with four leaves (spring over) and normal road tyres, can I raise it with new suspension and put some bigger tyres so I can make it an offraod trailer? Also how much would it cost to raise it for better clearance?

cheers Nico,

will put some pics up on the web tomorow if anyone is interested

Do a springover conversion and fit bigger rubber.

I think he said it already was.

You can get some solid bar to make lift blocks to put between the axle and the spring. You'll also need longer u bolts at the same time.

I have a 6x4 that i have done a spring over and fitted ford hubs and now it sit level with my 4x4 but i wouldn't take it off road as i think the hubs and axle wouldn't hold up very well, you would want an independent suspension setup for anything serious... anyway these guys have some cool stuff http://www.trailerparts.net.au/
