ok, some questions for you knowledgeable cruiser guys out there

i recently made myself a new headlight loom to get brighter lights. has anyone modified the inner lights to be low&high like the outer set? do you use a second set of outer reflectors in their place or is it as simple as using another set of h4 globes??

also, i will be swapping my rear axle housing soon (i hope) and was wondering if i can improve the brakes while im at it? mainly, can i improve on the shitty park brake with a swap to disk park brakes, or transmission brakes or .... ideas on improving on normal brakes would be good too (i think you can use 100 series pads in the front, is that right? what about the rear?)

Cheers
Bluey

Yes you can 100 series front pads but rears are different.

I was under the impression that 100 rear pads are thesame as 80...if you have early 80, pre 8/92, you can put later front callipers on and discs up front, to get the benefit of larger discs, and then the 100 pads will fit straight in...the rear later brakes and handbrake can also be retrod as a complete bolt on, but u then need 16 inch rims or grind the new callipers to clear the 15's
The later handbrake is not any better than the former....

The inners will take a H3 globe so you'd need to replace the reflectors. This would be illegal in victoria as you are only allowed two low beams haed lights and two wanker lights (fog lights) on with your low beam. Headlight lenses and reflectors do not constitute fog lights.

thanks Andrew. my 80 is a 95 model, and about to get 93/94 rear housing. is it any 100 series pads for the front? so there is no mod to actually get a handbrake to work in a 80 series? guess i could carry a brick around like cranky

thanks Dan, wasn't aware of the 2 low beam thing. guess i'll just get bigger globes instead
