Gday,

Was driving my car round yesterday and the gearbox is starting to make some funny noises. I think it is probably time to source a reco unit.

I will pull the box out myself and just need someone to reco it or supply a change over box.

Just looking for some feedback from guys that have had boxes rebuilt who could recommend a particular place who are good for price and workmanship.

My box has done about 280000kms. Does this sound about right for g52 gearbox problems? If not how many kms have others got out of thier g52 gearboxes. Also anyone who has had there g52 rebuilt have you had any probs since rebuild or would i expect the same amount of kms over again?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Dave

im also interested in this thread as the G52 in my lux is on its way out i think. dont have much experience with manual boxes as this is my first car but after a trip recently i think that its a little stuffed. now grates in to 3rd and has a (worsening) whine in 5th. anybody had experience with replacing a G52 with a R151? any mounting issues? i know that u can get an adaptor plate from CRS or dellows (i think). also any diff in ratios? would love a better 5th ratio so its not revving so hard at 100km/h. going into a 98 hilux 3.0d. current box has 116000km

sorry for hijack
