Front shaft

Can anyone please tell me the difference between a defender 130 front shaft and a series 1 disco front shaft?

I did check one out at the wreckers, and from a cursory look, they appeared the same.....but I could be wrong cause I did not check the actual length or flanges, but knowing Rover and their parts-bin approach, you could take a safe punt

I was under the impresion that all front shafts that were run on the LT230 transfer box were the same (except for the Disco2).

Well looks like my mate's picked one up from the army now, so I guess I've got a spare front shaft.
