or turbo a 1hz, i've got a turbo glide, which uses a garret gt28 and 10lb boost. Works great.

Sounds ok Jim, the 1hz can still be bought in a gxl RFS...but thats the only one....and they come with r series prado boxes that fall out if you turbo or add tyres/weight....and the front diff is weaker than 80 with 2 extra teeth on thesame size ring....so 80 5 speed/transfer/front ARB locker is the answer for an unbreakable limo
or for the $$, a petrol same year went in the local yard for 24k with leather seats/woodgrain interior.....$1000 ontop for gas (plus rebate)and your doing 10c/km with heavy duty gearbox std...no turbo reqd.

I will be putting the 80 diffs under it with all the suspension do you know if the part time kit I got from marks for the 80 will fit in the 100 transfer?

With Toyota, nothing stays thesame...your diffs will fit, but the 100 is wider, so bigger wheel offset...the 100 diffs have bigger brakes, so your going backwards there, the 100 diffs have bigger axle studs/pins, so again backwards....the 100 has 4.3, 80 4.1, 100 t/d has 4.1...so u could put the 80 front diff and a t/d rear centre in the 100 diffs if u want. The lockers are thesame front, but different rear....its hard to beat an 80 these days, cheap as chips....saw a 40th annaversary with ABS and twin bags go for 12k on ebay the other day....(4.5 auto)

The part time kit will not fit the 100 transfer unless you put an 80 box and transfer in it , but if you disconnect the front diff, the ABS will not work anymore...and you will need 100 series dx hubs bigger studs/pins/pcd....everything is different, but the question is why do u want part time? Put a double cardon front shaft in and raise away....enjoy the constant 4wdability....c/v's are cheap these days

You find a rear hilux double cardon (extra cabs i think) and have it shortened or lengthened, about $250 and it sytops the vibration. Did one for a friends 4 inch 80 with caster correction.

[quote="dow50r"]With Toyota, nothing stays thesame...your diffs will fit, but the 100 is wider, so bigger wheel offset...quote]
so if I ran 80 series diffs out of a model with ABS could I fit wheel spaces to get the offset right? what size wheel spaces would I need?

A set of ROH rims are 1 inch further out than std gxl, so u could use them with 80 diffs. some lux's had d/c some didnt, all had centre bearing
