I own a 76 RRC and I'm planning to have power steering installed. Anyone knows what steering box I can install in my RRC other than original LR steering boxes from newer model RRC's and Discos? Will I find any steering box from a toyota or mitsubishi that will match with my rovers steering components?

Thanks

nissan patrol/safari 1988-current can be modified to suit, but easiest way is disco/rangie or a 110

Thanks for the tips, rover parts are quite expensive here in the philippines but we have an abundant supply of toyota, mitsubishi and nissan parts from Japan, ex RHD suv's that are converted here for sale as LHD.

Been reading threads in other forums, found out that Ford Astro Vans have saginaw boxes that mount inside and that have forward facing pitman arms. LC 60's have boxes that mount outside and also have forward facing pitman arms. I reckon if I get a RHD LC 60 gearbox, I can mount inside the chassis since my RRC is LHD. I assume this will steer the right direction?

Check the US forums like pirate. LandCruiser and Cressida boxes seem popular - they bolt to the outside of the chassis rail, and seem to be a reasonably simple conversion.

But the easiest conversion would really be to buy a LHD rangie PAS box from the US or mainland Europe... (assuming that is cheaper than the phillipines).

But whichever way you go you will need a box from a LHD vehicle if your rangie is LHD.

thanks for the inputs. What problems will I encounter if I mount a toyota RHD gearbox (w/c is mounted outside the chassis) on the inner left side?
